This 2 1/2 storey single family house in Ilz (Styria, near Hartberg) will be converted and thermally insulated with straw bales. The roof is topped (and newly laid), the terrace is glazed and integrated into the living room, the windows are exchanged and laid into the insulation level. The facade will be wrapped with a CUT construction with straw bale insulation and ventilated wooden facade (2nd/3rd storey) and lime plaster (cellar), inside walls will be plastered with clay.
